Year word
SIMPLIFY
Your 2027 word is SIMPLIFY. You have been carrying too much, and this year you put most of it down, keep what matters and build a life that is lighter to live.

Strengths
- You know what matters, deep down.
- You are brilliant at making systems that save time.
- You can say no clearly and kindly.
- You find calm in order and space.
- You make room for the good things by clearing the rest.
Next level
- Simplify one area at a time, so the change sticks.
- Keep the joyful clutter, the things that make you smile.
- Remember that simple is not the same as empty.
What this word asks of you
SIMPLIFY asks you to let go. Of commitments that no longer fit, of stuff that clutters your space, of habits that cost more than they give. You have been holding too many things at once, and the weight is showing.
Simplifying is not about having nothing. It is about having what matters, with room to enjoy it. Fewer plans, so you can be present at the ones you keep. Fewer things, so you can find what you need. Fewer obligations, so you can say yes to the right ones. This year is about building a life that is easier to run, easier to love and easier to rest in. Expect relief. Lots of it.
Your first three months
In January, audit. Write down everything that takes your time, money and energy each week. Be honest. Circle the things that matter most, and put a line through the things you would not miss.
In February, cut. Cancel the subscription, step down from the committee, clear the cupboard. Do one area at a time: your calendar, your home, your phone, your money. In March, build simple systems for what remains. A weekly meal plan, a single to-do list, an automatic savings transfer. By spring you will have hours back each week and a home that feels calmer when you walk in.
Your relationships
SIMPLIFY in relationships means focus. Spend more time with fewer people, and make that time count. Let go of friendships that only take, and invest in the ones that give back.
Simplify the logistics too: a regular call with your parents, a standing dinner with a friend, a shared calendar with your partner. Fewer arrangements, more connection. If you are partnered, simplify the household together, the chores, the money, the weekends. If you are single, clarity about what you want makes dating much easier. Say no to the maybes. Say yes to the people who feel simple to be around. That ease is a good sign.
Your work
At work, SIMPLIFY means doing fewer things better. Cut the meetings that do not need you. Streamline a process that wastes time. Say no to projects that dilute your focus.
Look at your week and ask: what are the three things that really matter in my role? Put most of your energy there. Automate, delegate or drop the rest. Clear your inbox, your desktop and your to-do list. If you run your own work, simplify your offer, your clients and your admin. You will be more productive and less stressed, and people will notice how much calmer you seem. By December, your work will feel lighter and you will be doing it better.
A ritual to keep it
Every Sunday evening, spend fifteen minutes on a simplify session. Clear one surface, delete one app, cancel one thing, or say no to one invitation. Just one.
Keep a simple list on the fridge: things I let go of this year. Add to it each week. Over the year, it becomes a record of everything you put down, and the lightness you gained. When life starts to fill up again, which it will, the Sunday ritual will catch it early. By the end of 2027 you will have a life that is easier to live, and a habit that keeps it that way.
