Your emotional nature: deep tides

The Moon rules Cancer, so this is its home sign, and your emotional life is rich and powerful. You feel deeply, intuitively and often. Your moods move like tides, rising and falling, sometimes for reasons you cannot quite explain.

You are naturally nurturing. You pick up on how others feel without being told and you want to make them comfortable. Feeding people, checking on them, making them a cup of tea. This care comes from the core of who you are.

Memory is powerful for you. Old places, songs and smells can bring back feelings as strongly as when they first happened. This gives you a deep sense of history and connection, but it can also keep old hurts alive.

When you feel threatened, you retreat into your shell. You go quiet, protect yourself and wait until it feels safe to come out again.

What makes you feel safe: home and belonging

Home is everything to you. A space that feels like yours, full of familiar things and people you love, is the foundation of your emotional wellbeing. When home is unsettled, everything feels unsettled.

You feel safe with people who are warm, loyal and emotionally present. Being seen, remembered and looked after means more to you than any grand gesture. A friend who asks how you are and actually waits for the answer is precious.

Family, whether by blood or by choice, matters deeply. You need to belong somewhere and to someone.

You feel unsafe when you sense coldness, rejection or criticism. Even small signs of distance can make you worry. Reassurance, given simply and often, helps you relax. You are not being needy. You are someone for whom connection is as essential as food.

How to look after yourself: nest and nourish

Make your space a refuge. Soft blankets, photos of people you love, a favourite mug, a comfortable chair. Coming home to a space that holds you is the best kind of self-care.

Cook and eat nourishing food, ideally with people you love. A shared meal soothes you deeply.

Ask for care directly. You are excellent at looking after others but often wait for someone to notice that you need looking after too. Tell them: "I have had a hard day. Can you give me a hug?"

Give your feelings space to move. A good cry, a long bath, a walk by water, writing in a journal. Let emotions flow rather than holding them in your shell. And when old hurts come up, ask what they are trying to protect you from. Then decide, gently, whether you still need that protection.
